Effective Against
ShtrigaConsecrated iron rounds are iron bullets that have been blessed through a religious ritual, combining the supernatural-disrupting properties of iron with the purifying power of consecration. They are specifically the weapon used against shtrigas and are effective only during the narrow window when the creature is actively feeding.
Usage
The rounds must be fired while the shtriga is in the act of feeding — drawing the life force (spiritus vitae) from a victim. At all other times, the shtriga is effectively invulnerable. This creates an extremely difficult tactical situation: the hunter must allow the creature to begin feeding on a child (the shtriga's preferred prey) in order to get a killable shot. The window is short, the stakes are terrifyingly high, and there is no margin for error.
Preparation
Standard iron rounds can be consecrated through Catholic or similar Christian blessing rituals. The exact requirements may vary — the show does not specify whether a specific denominational rite is required or if any genuine blessing suffices. The iron and the consecration are both essential; regular iron rounds and regular consecrated bullets (non-iron) are both ineffective against shtrigas.
